Valentine vibes throughout the year!

March 2, 2019 0 By Monika

Even though Valentine’s Day was just a couple of weeks back and so what if you couldn’t get past your busy schedule and go on that romantic getaway you’ve been dreaming about for so long? We bring you this list as broad as possible, presenting seven of the  most romantic spots, one from each continent (yes, Antarctica too). While some of these places are more famous and some rather obscure, this listicle might give you ideas to plan the most romantic trip at a location near you.

Europe: Venice, Italy

One of the most well known romantic activities  is to take the gondola ride in Venice, Italy. It has been featured in many forms of entertainment over the years, and for good reason. The relaxing boat ride, usually accompanied by music, takes you through the historic beauty that Venice is

known for, and is a must-do if you ever find yourself in the beautiful country.

North America: The Phoenix Resort, Belize

A popular  wedding and honeymoon location/ destination, the Phoenix Resort offers the beauty of Central America combined with  the experience of a 5-star hotel. It has many pools, spas and restaurants on site, but is also within walking distance of some of the locations known for their natural beauty, including San Pedro, and  its beautiful beaches. You can find more details on their website, here.

Asia:  The Maldives

The Maldives, a group of islands in the middle of the Indian Ocean is one of the most fascinating locations in the world. The Maldives pride themselves  for being an ideal spot for couples, and we recommend it by quoting their website, “…whether beginning life together, renewing their vows, celebrating a wedding anniversary, commemorating their years of partnership, or simply wanting to get back in touch with each other away from the humdrum of daily life.” They have many hotels for  every budget, and is a great spot to spend a romantic outing.

Antartica: White Pod

We of course have something for the adventurous romantics too. The White Pod, Antarctica,  is an “eco-luxury” hotel/resort that puts you right amid nature. They have 18 domes ready for living, equipped with beds, a kitchen and all the necessities.  While the pod itself is the epitome of luxury and comfort, Antarctica’s unique landscape and wildlife will ensure a once in a lifetime getaway once you step out of the pod.

Africa: Amboseli National Park, Mali

If you are one of the animal lovers, this is your chance to  experience once in a lifetime wildlife. The Amboseli National Park features, giraffes, zebras, hyena, elephants, buffalo, lion and more. The safaris will take you on  a tour of the 5 swamps that make up the park, allowing you and your loved one to connect over the beautiful animal ecosystem.

South America: Atacama Desert, Chile

Yes, a desert. Not typically thought of as the most romantic spots, this one is the exception. The Atacama Desert in northern Chile has some of the most unique landscapes on earth, creating a picture-perfect background  wherever you look. If you and your special someone can survive the dryness, this will undoubtedly be a great adventure.

Australia: Sunshine Coast, Hinterland

What’s a good romantic getaway without some stunning (sunset) views? The Sunshine Coast is here for that (and more) with it’s beautiful hills, valleys, water, mountains and trees. Not only do you get breathtaking visuals it has so many open spaces that you can do nearly anything here. From hiking to biking to just relaxing with your feet in the water, it’s the place you’ll want to go if you want to have a good amount of options.

Wherever love takes you this year,

GLYD team!
